So our sometimes hard to deal with, but essentially well-meaning track coach, Mr. Shipway, is making the running for taper easy. Wait, what's that Lassie? Timmy's fell down a well? The old barn is on fire? WE AREN'T RUNNING FOR TAPER? well i'll be damned. and here I thought in track we would.. well, run. At the very least play frisbee.
So now I've got some extra time in the day. Not to mention some extra energy. Yesterday I went swimming in the Farmington, on an excursion that taught me a valuable truth: if a hill looks muddy and slippery, it probably is, so don't try to run up it and then subsequently faceplant into the mud.
Anyway, going to Fitzgeralds for some taper friendly food, because I just cannot force myself to eat the school apples. after "practice" that is. Yes I have to go and "run" now.
Is anyone else getting really annoyed by the day students braging about their newly aquired ability to drive around with their shiny new licenses? Cause I really am.
welll bye

Guess who's back.
Yep. Finally going back up on the blog.
Well... today was nice.. twenty mile bike ride excluded, it was very relaxing. Is the fact that my motivation has gone completely out the window? I don't know.. My room smells.. Does anyone have fibreeze? kthx. One thing I have noticed recently is how intertwined my work ethic is with the pokemon VBA ROM Crystal game. When I play it, I stop caring. Go figure. I'm putting a bet out right now. I'm betting I got below an 80 on my term paper. 5 buck. Anyone want to take me up on it? Cause I need something to cheer me up when I recieve a sub-80 grade on a paper I've poured countless hours into. Wow, I just realized I'm listening to Frank Sinatra. That's How tired my brain is. It can tolerate Frank Sinatra for several minutes. Kay. It's all better. Got "G Code" playing.
More on the blog later. Have fun ever-buddies.
PS.. "JIMMIES" is a politicly correct term... I'm from the Cape... bitch

Winter dreams
Today it's a hill holiday XD and I've realized how much I've neglected my blog. Today I woke up at 12, thus getting the best night sleep in over three weeks. I had a quick, slightly disapointing breakfast (they didn't have apple jacks) and went back to bed, listening to a new Guster CD Duddy burned for me. I was impressed, it's kind of Dispatchy, but not quite as upbeat. after a lazy two hours of music and eating pocky (Moose gave me 4 boxes from her twenty box shipment that's getting refunded) I decided to meander downstairs two the second floor buisness offices two visit Dallen and remind him about the Hill Holiday which he has to work on, while still in my socks and pjs. His face was amusing when he saw my atire, but he got an important buisness related call (probably Netflix- he has over 300 movies waiting on cue there) and I went for a run. The run was ok, but I hadn't had to much food, so I was to tired to enjoy it as much as usual. Once I finnished my run, I revisited Dougie Fresh. Once again intrigued by my clothing (this time sweaty/icy running cloths) he told me that he had a xc team sweatshirt from my freshman year (the year I hadn't gotten one because i didn't thing that I was going to stay on the team long enough for it to arrive) somewhere in his appartment assuming he hadn't given it away and forgotten about it. Then we had a nice long conversation about a sorts of things including my sucky freshman year, my grades (summus, or high honors for home friends), the SATs, and some kid he got kicked out a few years ago that he didn't want kicked out. Then I came up back to my room and here I am. Visiting Dallen tonight during study hall and tomorrow for an advisee feed. Well it's almost dinner and I gotta shower. Here's a nice running quote.
"Maybe I shouldn't have had breakfast at Denny's."

fool me 3 times, i am a dumbass
Well, my mom thought that the bus back to school left on the second. I tried to have her check the shool website to see if it actually leaves on the third, because that is the date that it has left for the past two years. She however did not check, and therefore, the three of us (my bro was there to because he was supposed to be driven back after I got on the bus.) ended up waiting at the Darien bus stop for twenty minutes before we decided to call my dad and confirm the date. Turns out I was right. The bus back leaves tonight. So I got another night at home which i was sort of indifferent about. I meen, I didn't do anything except help my mom take down the Christmass decorations. She said it makes her sad to do this, but I don't really see what the big deal is. I think people really make to much of the holiday season, as if this time of year is any more of a blessing than any other time. Some say, "but it's a time to see your family and (especially for borders) be at home." Well, yea, I mean seeing my family makes me happy to, and its nice to be at home for a bit. But over these past few years I've found that home can exist in more than one place, and family with more than one group of people. So yea, I love being at home with my family, but being at school with my friends is also great. And the work stinks and I REALLY REALLY don't like being in class, but it's things like going for a run at the crack of dawn, having breakfast with my friends, Avatar with Marianne, Annie, Helena, and Polly, DDR marathons, playing UT with Bagel Smiles and Josh, and just hanging out with the apartmenters(Slash doing Niki P's hw) that I can't do at home. So yea, I'm pretty happy about going back to school this time around. I like being home, but I'm not gonna miss it. Bad vegetarian food, here I come!
Well, Moms home, which means it's time leave for the bus.
Bye home friends and see you soon, Westy friends!

2007
Well, the shortly anticipated New Year is finally here, and wow I couldn't really care less. I woke up early yesterday, and made myself pancakes with the little mix that we had in the house, went for a run, and then went into the city with my family to have dinner with my Grandma. And she of course picks the resturant that has no vegetarian dinners. Let's actually not get into the dinner. It was akward and... akward. When we got back from that we watched Pirates of the Carrabien 2. And wow, that ending was crap. If it was a TV show, it would be kickass but for a movie, no. Woke up at noon today, got more jiffy at the store, and made pancakes for my brother and I. And my dad made this one behemoth pancake the size of a frisbee. It was fun. I decided not to run today. The weather is great, but I'm really sore. well, I think this is going to be a fun year. I get to visit colleges, be a captian for my favorite team, and step on the senior lawn. Well I'm going back to school tomorrow. I didnt have much to say today, just thought I'd make a post for the hell of it. Happy 07 everyone.

whew.
Well, the day is at its end (Saturday just started). I ended up going for a 4 mile run at 330 which was really fun. I am finally rid of my shin splints. I also decided not to think about the Westy drama thing until I have to actually deal with it. After the run i went to my friend Christina's for a small party. We ate cookies and grapes and pizza and then played pingpong, guitar hero, and real guitar. After that we saw Eurotrip, a delightful familly comedy. I recomend it. Watch it with your parents. They'll love it. After that we just sat around and talked untill everybody started to leave. It was a fun noght which reminded me that I should get out more often. Also, on a very exciting note, my hair is almost ponytailable. I'd give it another month or so. My parents are taking the next two days off from work. I think they're going to make me drive tomorrow. So pray. Pray for my soul as well as any other poor soul that may be within a 2 mile radius of the road while I drive our shitmobile through the herds of CT ferraries and lexuses. Happy new years everyone.
my grandma spelled my name wrong on christmass. Twice. lol. But not really.
New topic, same post. Yes. High five!
So for this Christmass I decided to try a little expiriment. I asked my family not to give me any presents. As a Buddhist, I believe both that every day is a holiday, and that material things comprimise our ability to live in the present moment. They respected my wishes and so on Christmass day everyone was openning presents exept me. And I gotta tell you, it really wasn't that bad. It's hard to explain, especially through writing, but I felt kind of freer. I don't have to worry about any more stuff, and I find that once you let go of something such as a hope or a fear or in this case the desire for cool sh*t, you wonder why you were even clinging to it in the first place. In this society of course, we are taught that hope is good, but I disagree. It is like the saying goes, "Hope is not the opposite of despair but rather its source." No one just starts out with a pessimistic outlook. They start out with hopes like let's say, getting into Yale. Someone is trying to get into Yale. Every day, they think of how great going to Yale would be. They cling to the philosophy that they can only be happy to go to Yale. It makes them happy to have that hope. But then they apply and are rejected. Suddenly without that hope, they cling to despair. They still think that the only way to be happy is by going to Yale even thought they know that they can't go there. Despair is born only of hope. But there is an optimistic way of seeing this. You can be happy if you let go of hope and ideals. Doing this completely is to attain enlightenment, and is pretty hard, but even letting go of a few hopes like good grades or excellence in sports, the hopes that are more easilly noticed, can make you feel alot better. It gets harder when you get into the, "I hope my family doesn't die soon" and realated ideals territory. Those are harder to let go of. But just start by letting go of the small stuff. It really works, trust me. And by let go I don't mean switch extremes; just let go. If you consider yourself a liberal, don't just become conservative, just stop creating that illusion of yourself. Don't be a "moderate" either, just be. If you step out of your self-percieved illusions, It is easier for you to see things how they really are. It's hard to do, but try it. Illusions seem comfortable, but they are just philosophical restraints. Another quote I think is in order.
"To often we enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought."
Happy New Years Eve, everyone.

To defeat the Huns!
Okay. I have my own blog. Now let's get down to business.
Right now it is winter break and i am at home and freazing my ass off. My dad has this thing where he doesn't think humans require heat to survive. The only reason I'm writing at this late hour is that I am wearing shoes right now. If iI go to bed, I will have to take those shoes off and therefore suffer frostbite. I actually had a delightfull day today. I got up reletively early and drew for about an hour. I was proud of my previous night's accoumplishments. I averted yet another maturity lecture from my parents by pretending i was asleep. Good stuff. Eventually I made my way downstairs. Both my mom and dad were at work, so I watched a few DVDs at close to full blast and ate stopandshop muffins on the couch, chuckling at an absurdly immature joke from my early childhood. The joke: What do you get when you put the A&P and Stop and shop together? Stop & Pee! Yes. I know. I am quite the comedien. Well then I decided to go for a run. and that was enjoyable. I noticed however that the warm weather was causing a the skunk cabbages, which usually don't appear untill around march, to star popping up all aroung the streams. After my run, my friend Brendan took me to the mall for various merriment including a lightsaber fight at Sharper Image (for whigh we got many strange looks), laughing at the emo kids at Hot Topic, realizing that we only had the money for Subway, and graphicnovel hunting at borders. Then we set about for a Wii console, but to no avail. They were all sold out. Dinner was at Brendans. Pasta, bread, and salad, followed by Pirats of the Carabien. My mom picked me up at 1030 before the movie was even over but whatever. When I got home there was Autin Powers followed by Facebook, during which I was glumly reminded of the drama which I left at school and that I am lab partners with one of the drama sources. It's gonna be a sticky situation... That will be a post for tomorrow. Well. I'm tired now. Abyebye.
ps did you get the Mulan reference?
